The Makoyana natural habitat is in the jungle, so they like high humidity and no direct sunlight. Water from the base around every 7-10 days, and mist with water (prefferably rain water) on a regular basis, especially in the winter months when the central heating is turned on, as this dries out the air.
Native to Eastern Brazil, this plant is valued for its oval, vibrantly-colored leaves. Dont they look like someone painted on the leaves? This beleive it or not, is all natural. On average, these plants grow to about two feet in height and two feet in width, making a stunning show peice in your home, and you can let everyone know that this plant gained the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit!
